Case Study: A Home Developer with a Unique Focus
Skywork Homes approached us for a visual identity as unique as their mission to distinguish themselves from their competitors. They focus on affordable neighborhoods, renovating houses into contemporary smart living spaces. We built the brand ground up, developed the brand story, designed their website and marketing collaterals such as brochures and more.
Before we started the design process, we spent time to meet and get to know the founders and their vision. After the meeting, our team and rauDesign started the project by researching the industry and competitors. We then made the target market more tangible by creating a persona. At this point, we had enough information to start the development of the logo. Below are the three distinct directions we provided for Skywork Homes:
We have decided to use the “Modern Architecture” path. After one round of free revision, we produced the final logo along with its responsive mobile version.
After we have created a logo and a brand guideline, we apply consistent visual elements to the website, business card, letterhead, envelope, social media, brochures, mailers, and the “home book”.
Skywork Homes provide for their customers affordable luxury. So to position the brand being welcoming, we developed a witty brand story–Little Red Riding Hood and the hunter are looking for very different homes. The story is presented on the website, making the minimally structured site lively and engaging.
Since we only had iPhone photos to work with, we did quite a lot of photo editing, and use illustrations more extensively than photographs. Some of these images and illustrations were also used in marketing collaterals.
